The Recommendation:
It all starts with a recommendation. The National Association of Entrepreneurship has nearly nine thousand mid-market CEO's in their membership. They are the primary reason for Meridian. They are only involved with high touch, intentional meetings, that have a direct and special purpose. Over the 20 plus years we have been in this space, they have found our guides and recommendations to be highly valuable. It is their input and participation that sets this program apart. Because they are the ultimate decision maker, and they are Meridian.
The Path to Selection:
After a recommendation, comes the interview, the NAE team interviews the recommending party and gets very detailed feedback about the property, attitude of the resort team, the variety of and, quality of amenities, as well as the overall experience. We are looking at the tangible and intangible. Why do our time strapped, extremely engaged C-suite members take time to recommend?
Most recommendations are made based on real-life past experience. The fact that one of our members had a successful meeting experience is critical. In several cases, multiple members, have held multiple events, over several years. Some of our long standing selections host dozens of events with our members each year.
We then ask the destination to open the door and put their best foot forward. They pitch our team member(s) as if they are a prospective high value client (and many times they are). It is not a secret why we are there, and we are not trying to trap or trick a venue. If we are on-site, it is not looking for a gotcha moment, like other systems. We are looking to enhance an already existing relationship.
Ambassador Site Visits:
We are looking at the destination through the eyes of our members. Oftentimes, the site visit party is an actual member/decision-maker. We call them Meridian Ambassadors. They are the final step in selection. Many times we ask them to bring their significant other and/or family, or a company outside advisor, customer, or vendor. The majority of our events include additional stakeholder participation.
